Radio baltic waves, interval signal on 612 kHz

Hello and thanks for letting me contribute to this blog. This is Steffen (Radiorobbe) from the eastern part of germany. I will present some randomly selected recordings from my archive.

As I still enjoy listening to mediumwave and shortwave stations every now and then, let’s start off with a beautiful interval signal from Radio Baltic Waves. This station broadcasts from lithuania, mainly relaying programs from other broadcasters such as Radio free Europe, NHK Japan and recently the ukrainian radio. the following is a recording of the daily program closedown. It has been made in 2013 on their no longer active 612 kHz frequency. Also this interval signal appears to be no longer in use. Today the station broadcasts on 1386 kHz and can be widely heard in europe.

If you meant the first piece, before the interval signal starts, it is "Amsterdam" by the polish band "Blue Cafe". – Track was probably a finish one from the Polish radio external service programme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2a6jKffwT4 And Here goes the translation of the spoken content. First, a formal identification in lithuanian.: "This is Radio Baltic Waves from Vilnius". Then, the belarusian note follows.: "This is Vilnius speaking, Radio Baltic Waves. Radio Baltic Waves, A private radiostation registered in the Republic of Lithuania is a non-commercial entity of public interest.

Regarding the currently used interval signal, They use a spoken, lithuanian version of this interval, exactly the same that is overlaid onto the music in this attached recording.
However someone hasmessed up the clock lately, and Polish radio feed can start at 3, or 4 minutes before the proper programme, cutting the one in progress. As a consequence, the spoken identification is also played more than 3 minutes before top of hour
